General School Description

Wilfrid Jury Public School serves the Whitehills region of northwest London-northern boundary Gainsborough Road, southern boundary Sarnia Road, eastern boundary Wonderland Road and western boundary Hyde Park Road.

Jury offers classes from Junior Kindergarten to Grade Eight with an enrolment of approximately six hundred fifty students, making it one of the largest elementary schools in Thames Valley. We also have 3 system Developmental Education classes. We work closely with the Whitehills Day Centre which is located in the school. The Whitehills Day Care Centre offers full day child care as well as before and after school care for students. Our school is an integral part of the community and therefore the building is used by many community and city groups on weekends, in the summer and in the evenings.

Measures of Student Achievement and Success
At Thames Valley, we believe that assessment and evaluation of student achievement are integral parts of the learning process. Information gathered through assessment and evaluation helps teachers to determine students' strengths and weaknesses in their achievement of the curriculum expectations. It also serves to guide teachers in adapting curriculum and instructional approaches to students' needs and in assessing the overall effectiveness of programs and classroom practices. A variety of methods are used to gauge student progress including: teacher observation, classroom tests, projects and other examples of student work. For more information on our school's provincial assessment results, visit the Education Quality and Accountability Office.
