About Our School

St Catherine of Siena Catholic School is one of the newest elementary schools in the London District Catholic School Board. Opening in September 2004, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic is located in the rapidly growing community of Richmond Hills in northwest London. An adjustment in September 2010 has expanded our boundaries to include:  Ten Mile Road from Adelaide Street to Vanneck Road; south to the Thames River to Hyde Park Road; north to Fanshawe Park Road; south along Medway Creek to Richmond Street.  Next, it proceeds east along Fanshawe Park Road to North Centre Road, north to Chambers and west to Adelaide.

Committed to Catholic education, our students thrive in an environment that stresses tolerance and acceptance of one another. Our commitment to our Catholic faith provides a learning environment where together we model our Gospel values and teachings daily. Parents, staff and students work together to ensure a strong Catholic education.

Living Our Faith

Our patron saint is St. Catherine of Siena, carefully selected by our trustees from a list of suggested saints offered by the school community. St. Catherine of Siena is the patron saint of Italy and was born in Siena in 1347. At an early age she joined the Third Order of Saint Dominic in which she gained a reputation for great sanctity. Recognizing her holiness and wisdom many followed her leadership in her devotion to the poor. She laboured incessantly and with fiery zeal for the unity of the Church and was a devoted champion of the Papacy. Catherine died in Rome in 1380 after a remarkable life, leaving a legacy of outstanding spiritual treatises, and was canonized in 1461; her Feast Day is April 29.  Our school community embraces her life as a worthy model for our own children.

St. Catherine’s considerable intellectual skills balanced by her strong devotion to her faith, her Church and her compassion for those less fortunate makes her an ideal role model for our students. The planning and organizing of our curriculum and school activities reflects this vision. Our school actively campaigns for many worthy charities including the London Food Bank, The Holy Childhood Association, World Vision, The United Way, The Terry Fox Run and the St. Vincent DePaul Society, among others.  Our school-parish partnership is strong, as evidenced by our monthly school masses, visits by Father Sample and the Parish Team; and our involvement in and support of the sacramental preparation programs.
